Green New Deal Town Hall! Lekwungen Territories/Victoria

Thursday, May 23, 6:30pm

Fernwood Community Centre Gym

1240 Gladstone Avenue , Victoria

Hosted by: Rise and Resist

Join us for the Victoria town hall on a Green New Deal!

The purpose of this town hall is to crowdsource ideas for what a Green New Deal for Canada should look like. Town halls will be taking place in other communities across Canada during the same week.

The idea of a Green New Deal is just taking off in Canada and we can define what it means for our community here in Victoria.

We want people from all walks of life and all movements — Indigenous communities, migrant justice activists, the labour movement, faith groups, anti-povery activists, environmentalists, and everyday people — to come together and make this happen!

Bring your friends and neighbours!

This town hall is a collaboration between local groups and some independent organizers:
Rise and Resist
Social Environmental Alliance
Canadian Union of Postal Workers 850
Youthforclimate.ca
First Metropolitan United Church
Rethinking Economics Victoria
Women's March Canada

We are supported by:
Sierra Club BC (who are generously sponsoring the event!)
First Metropolitan United Church
Vancouver Island Peace and Disarmament Network
Council of Canadians, Victoria Chapter
Rolling Justice Bus
The Cedar Tree Institute
Better Transit Alliance of Greater Victoria
Victoria Socialists

This event is taking place on Lekwungen Territories.
